CAEOP in Action!

Message from NAEOP President Susan Belliston

My challenge for you in the coming year is simple.  “Let Your Light Shine.”  Let your light shine in your office to your co-workers, supervisors, and everyone you come in contact with.  Let them see how valuable you can be to them in performing your everyday tasks.  Take the time to learn new concepts and processes for your job.  Take advantage of webinars and professional development.  Apply for promotions or new positions to help keep you shining in your workplace.  Step out of your comfort zone and work on a committee for NAEOP.  Take on the challenge to make a difference.  You might enjoy it so much that you will consider running for an office.  Take the opportunity to grow through leadershipEducate yourself to improve your skills and knowledge.  Achieve by working on your Professional Standards Program Certificate and go for your CEOE.  It’s attainable!  You can do it!  The recognition gained through NAEOP is worth the effort. And enjoy the networking opportunities waiting for you by being actively involved in your local association, your state association, and NAEOP.

A quote from D.L. Moody “We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine.”

“Ours is the responsibility to keep our lights bright for others to see and follow.” – Thomas S. Monson

I would like to leave you with some “Advice from a Lighthouse” I found on Pinterest.

Stand Tall

Be “shore” of yourself

Set a shining example

Look on the bright side

Weather life’s storms

It’s ok to be a little flashy.

Thank you for this opportunity to serve you, the members of NAEOP!  Let’s ALL “Let Our Light Shine” for NAEOP.

 Susan Belliston

2018-2019 NAEOP President
